If you are after an all purpose garden gate our Rybery Gate might just be the solution you’re after. This attractive yet hard wearing gate can be purchase in standard heights of between 3 to 6 foot. Alternatively if you have a particular space you need cover we can produce this as a made measure item for you in our Dorset workshop. It can be supplied in either Iroko hardwood or Scandinavian redwood.
The vertical tongue and groove planks are securely braced with rounded top side timbers and topped with an attractive curved panel.

Hardwood is more durable and longer lasting than softwood (if not treated). Hardwood will be more expensive, but if you are not going to regularly treat softwood it is less labour intensive on the upkeep. If you wanted a painted finish to your gate, softwood would be the preferred choice as it takes the painted finish better than a hardwood.
As we offer a wide range of garden and entrances gates, we appreciate that it can become confusing to know which is the right gate for you. Many of our gates are available in a variety of sizes and timber types. We recommend treating Iroko hardwood with a ‘Ronseal Hardwood Garden Furniture Oil’. This is a mixture of traditional oils with the benefit of a slight pigment to increase the depth of colour and product against UV fading.
To treat Scandinavian Redwood we recommend Ronseal Shed and Fence Preserver as it’s easy to apply, protects against rot and decay and provides a colour.
