Turn back time The clocks go back this weekend and it got us thinking about when John Bright’s began back in 1982. It was the year of the Falkland’s War, the birth of Prince William and the appointment of Bobby Robson as England Manager. Dad started out doing fencing for people and word quickly spread. After a while, he and mum decided to begin a business together, a firm with strong family values, craftsmanship and service. Back then, it was a different world. Excitement grew around the launch of a fourth tv channel in November but music was still on tape or vinyl. A Hungarian professor called Erno Rubik had invented a new puzzle originally called the Magic Cube which went onto to sell 350 million cubes worldwide, a puzzle phenomenon. Here in Dorset, the National Trust had just received its largest ever donation from the Bankes family, including Corfe Castle and Kingston Lacy. Despite the changes since the 1980s, one thing that remains constant is our commitment to our customers and dedication to doing a good job. Our name IS our guarantee, then as now. Our business has grown over thirty five years to include a loyal team of craftsmen and expert installers. We have grown to build our own on site workshop and country store – the future’s Bright. Here’s to the next thirty five years. Talk to us for all your fencing, gates, garden and agricultural needs. SHARE NEXT ARTICLE
